Is purchasing a firearm over the internet really legal?
Yes, purchasing a firearm via the internet is legal in all 50 states. However, certain firearms may not be available for ownership in certain states. The process begins with a buyer consulting a local gun store or Federal Firearms License holder regarding the legality of owning the desired firearm that is available for purchase from Armamart. BEFORE, an individual purchases a firearm over the internet, he/she must have an FFL holder willing to both receive the firearm and to conduct a background check on the purchaser. After a gun is purchased from Armamart, the buyer must remit payment and a signed copy of his/her FFL holder's Federal Firearms license within five business days. This can be done by either faxing a copy of the license, emailing a scanned copy, or postal mailing a hard copy to Armamart's address. After we receive payment and authenticate the FFL, we will ship the firearm to the address of your FFL holder. It is at that location that the buyer will be able to pick up the firearm, after the buyer passes the BATF background check that is initiated by the FFL holder. After covering the small transfer fee charged by the FFL holder, the buyer is now the proud owner of the firearm.

What is an FFL holder?
A Federal Firearms license holder is an individual or company who has completed the background, safety, and security checks conducted by the BATF and has been issued a Federal Firearms license. The FFL gives that individual or company authorization to do a number of actions as well as obligating them to many responsibilities. The main duties of an FFL holder are to repair and/or ship firearms out for repair, to conduct background checks on individuals who have purchased a firearm, and primarily to buy and sell firearms in mass quantities to attain a profit.

What is a transfer fee?
Each time a firearm arrives at an FFL holder's location it must be recorded into an acquisition book that details the firearm's serial number and other pertinent information. The same record keeping applies to when a firearm leaves a location and the details must be logged into an FFL holder's disposition book. Most FFL holders charge a transfer fee of $25 to $50 per firearm to buyers who have purchased a firearm that must be shipped to the FFL holder's location. There are many reasons most FFL holders charge a transfer fee. The main reasons are because a transfer may take anywhere from 10 minutes to 24 hours of an FFL holders time and an FFL holder is assuming the liability of conducting a proper background check on the buyer.

How long will it take for me to receive the items I have orderd?
The length of time from when order is submitted to the time you have your item(s) in hand can be as little as 3 business days or as many as 10 business days. Distance from our shipping location and the type of shipping service that you request when placing your order affect the time it takes for you to receive your items.

Is it possible for me to pay for my item(s) using Paypal?
No, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Paypal coupled with Ebay is a self-righteous, pretentious organization that assumes it is has the ability to influence world internet commerce, and more importantly US legislation. They impose restrictions on transactions and accounts that involve weapon related items. In some cases Paypal account holders (both the buyer and the seller) have even had their accounts and finances frozen or deleted with money still tied into the account. If you are a Paypal account holder, we highly recommend that you inform them of the inconvenience as well as the loss the loss of your business.

How do I know if I am allowed to legally own and use this item?
The entire Armamart staff tries our best to constantly check legal, governmental, and public resources for updates concerning ordinances or bans on each item that we sell. With that said, even we at times cannot keep up with the deliberately confusing red tape of the law. So we do encourage our customers to do their own research and if possible, correct our error. The two best local resources an individual can use to find information are local gun stores and the prosecutor's office. We discourage the use of the internet as a resource unless the source is a .gov website. If you have information regarding an item on our site we would greatly appreciate you to sharing it with us. You may contact us using any of the methods listed on our contact us page, and please provide us with citation of the resource where you found your information.

What happens if my item is broken, defective, or not what I orderd?
We apologize if an item you ordered was damaged or defective when you received it and we would encourage you to contact us so that it can be returned to us as soon as possible in order for the item to be replaced immediately. The same applies to an item that you did not order. We allow up to 10 days after you receive the item for a return/inspection period. If you notify us within the 10 day window that there is a problem with your item, we may send you a shipping call tag and you may ship the damaged/defective item back to us at your convenience. We will then notify you upon receipt of the damaged/defective item and we will issue a refund of the item's cost or replace the item at no additional cost.

What else can you tell me about purchasing a gun online?
All firearm retailers and some pawn brokers have a federal firearms license and can ship/receive firearms as well as conduct the federal background check. FFL (Federal Firearms License) holders will run a background check on the buyer when he/she intends to pick up the firearm(s). Your firearm will not ship until we are provided with a signed copy of the FFL holder's license and shipping address. When purchasing it is important to note that there is a strict no returns/no refunds policy regarding firearms, so do not purchase if you have committed a criminal offense that would prevent you from passing a federal background check. Anyone that can legally purchase a firearm from his/her local gunstore, can also purchase a firearm from this website. The firearm(s) of your choice can be added to your shopping cart and paid for just like any other items on this site. However, because a federal background check is required for final acquisition, firearms can not be shipped like other items. This means that all firearm purchases must be shipped to a federally licensed firearms dealer (usually a local gunstore) for the buyer to pick up his/her firearms(s).
